As some of you may already know I was at the recent i31 event working for Source Junky. While there I got quite close to the team Zboard, a few of whom I knew from their xciteuk associations, and spent a lot of time in their company. Towards the end of the event it became apparent that there was an opportunity for me to become part of the management team and it was one I could not turn down.
I have been the head manager of xciteuk for over about a year now and have always giving everything to the team and the community at large. It is a sad day for me as I was extremely close to all the players and people who used our public servers. But I hope that everyone will understand why I’m moving over to Zboard. Anyone who has read my work knows how passionate I am about creating a UK team that can challenge the European elite. I think we can very much do that with this Zboard team, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make it happen.

It may seem odd to leave you guys for a team that could get drafted to CGS and therefore end up with no team at all, but to have played a part in the realising of their ambitions will be more than enough for me. Those guys deserve it.

My final acts as head manager will be to sort the team out, as more roster changes are abound, and to hand over the management to someone who I know will do a great job. I may now be Zboard, but I will always be xciteuk.

Thanks to all of you

Rich

After one month since Rich “Dr Gonzo” Lewis first proposed the idea of a junior team to represent xciteuk, we finally have 6 committed members ready to prove that age does not matter when it comes to playing CS:S.

Many younger players find it harder to find teams, as it is often assumed that people over the age of 20 will be more mature, and have a less egotistical view of the game. Porky was one of those 17 year olds, struggling to find a team full of sensible people, all who were set on acheiving the most they could out of the game. It was then that Rich “Dr Gonzo” Lewis had suggested the xciteuk junior team to both Alex “woLf” Wolf and Richard “Porky” Smith. After a week or so of trying to sort the team, both Alex and Porky gave up on the idea. However, with the backing of #FlavouR, Porky was able to find 4 other players all with the same goal; to enjoy the game and prove themselves to the Source community. After some discussion with Rich “Dr Gonzo” Lewis, Porky now moves his team into the xciteuk organisation as the junior team. The roster is currently:
Richard “Porky” Smith
Dan “DanuL” Wilson
Jon “Lucifear” Guy
Dave “.pRs” Warhurst
Jamie “xen_-” Walters
Jordon “JD” Nixon

Alex “woLf” Wolf - Team Mascot

Finally being able to combine the best of both worlds I have decided to stand down from my duties as Zboard manager to focus on the development of xciteuk as both a team and a brand. I was blessed to have spent so much time in the company of such a great team, a great sponsor and a great ambassador of the the game in the form of ben0. With my new found CGS commitments I really had to make a decision and Zboard is in good hands with its current management team, so it makes sense to part ways on the best of terms. Thanks to all for the opportunity.
Now to xciteuk and I am proud to announce the latest team as it is one of the highest calibre featuring some of the top names in the UK. The new lineup looks something like this:

Nathaniel “TiLs” Tilsley
Simon “vpr” Carter
David “JaFro” Davidson
Jack “Callisto” Mason
Adam “shivers” Marsden

Exciting times at xciteuk then, and this is the team that shall be flying the flag for us at the upcoming i-series event, as well as some other online competitions I’m sure. For now I’m sure you will welcome them to the fold and get fully behind a team that can do this community proud.
